Dr. Metz has a passion for sharing his knowledge with new and younger orthodontists, mentoring colleagues in dental associations, and working as a part-time faculty member at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where he trains orthodontic residents in both clinical and practice management techniques. and welcomes the opportunity to bring new associate orthodontists to his practice, to work alongside him at Metz Orthodontics.

Meet Dr. Ruwa Irsheid

Originally from Jordan, Dr. Irsheid has always been passionate about creating healthy and confident smiles. She earned her dental degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology, where she graduated with honors before moving to the United States to further her education. At the University of Florida, Dr. Irsheid completed two years of advanced education in general dentistry, followed by three additional years of specialty training in orthodontics, where she earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Dental Science.

As a proud member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the Florida Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Irsheid is committed to delivering exceptional care. By attending local, regional, and national conferences and pursuing continuing education, she stays at the forefront of her field, ensuring she delivers the highest standard of care while further enhancing her expertise.

Dr. Irsheid is passionate about creating beautiful, long-lasting smiles while fostering meaningful connections with her patients. She strives to make each individual feel comforted and at ease throughout their orthodontic journey. Fluent in both Arabic and English, she connects with patients from diverse backgrounds and ensures their experience is both comfortable and rewarding.

Outside the office, Dr. Irsheid cherishes quality time with her family, sharing giggles and hugs with her daughter, Talia. She enjoys discovering new restaurants, working out, and reading thriller novels.

Meet Dr. Shaun Murphy

Dr. Murphy is a board-certified orthodontist who relocated to the Tampa area from Chicago in 2025. She earned her dental degrees and completed her orthodontic training at The Ohio State University: Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, Doctor of Dental Science, and a three-year Orthodontic Residency. She received an award from the American Association of Orthodontists for Exceptional Interest in the Development of the Oro-Facial Complex and continues to be involved in membership in dental professional organizations. After completing her orthodontic residency. Dr. Murphy practiced orthodontics in Chicago for three years before moving to Tampa to build a life with her future husband, Dr. Spencer Matthews, who works as an orthodontist in Tampa and completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Florida, where Dr. Metz teaches part-time. Dr. Murphy is part of a dental family – her grandfather and uncle were both oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and her younger brother is a general dentist practicing in Chicago. Her hobbies include snow skiing, pilates, and spending time with family and friends!
